cheap fix / oem replacement handles and how-to

And another....cut the shit out go my finger twice now... Anyone try an aftermarket one? Replaces the whole color matched piece and chrome handle. amega9y6.jpg

I got an OEM set of just the "chrome" handles of ebay for $15. This is for both left and right interior door handles and pins.

Here's a video that helps with installation - you really need the plastic trim tools to keep from messing up the panels and breaking the pop nuts.

It's easier to take the entire door handle assembly off to work on as opposed to the way they've done it on the video. I've found that the pins holding the handle are in pretty good and take some force to get out. I used a heat gun to soften the plastic around the pin to pull it out. Also, the new pins are pretty hard to get in. I opened the holes up a little at the top to get it all the way in. All in all, only took about 45 minutes for both doors (the second one goes much quicker).
