whats up guys, i bought these 194 bulbs for the doors on my 2003 gmc xl. and they dont fit in. the bulb is a bit big to fit into the hole of the light housing. is there any tips/tricks to get it in or do i have to buy a different bulb.?

http://www.amazon.com/5-SMD-White-H...V8WG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327099660&sr=8-1

i also bought these for the over head lights and the puddles,
http://www.amazon.com/CBConcept-42m...MHGQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1327099794&sr=8-3. they all fit and work. but for the puddle lights i had to put them slanted because they wouldnt fit into the housing if i left them pointing straight down. thanks.

Those 194's for the doors should work. Mine almost didn't fit either but you have to twist and turn them just the right way, not rough, but they should fit. If not, you can shave a little bit of material off the bulb.
For the puddle lights, you should have gotten something like this, they are narrower than the ones you posted-

Or, if you have a dremmel or grinder, you can shave a little off the sides to make the ones you got to work.

Just be careful not to damage the copper trace. The 194's, you can shave a little off each side of the plastic base(I'm assuming that's where it's too wide). Looking at the festoons you ordered, doesn't look like there's much to shave, so might have to live with it or get new ones. If you look at the ones I posted, the leds are laid out differently to be a little more narrow.

I just took one of those stepper drill bits that look like a christmas tree and slightly enlarged the hole on the door lamp housing.

Used these bulbs.

Nice. I like the look of these better for the door panels. Found them, $8.50 for two!

yea if i cant get the 194s to fit into the door, i was thinking to just enlarge the hole as well...thats a sick bulb. i bet their bright! the bulbs i got are alright. there not as bright as i thought they would be. they look bright. but i think the older stock bulbs gave more visual light.

Do you have a pic of the bulb itself!? Some 194's are without a doubt not going to fit rose are usually made for maps domes and license plate lights... Just an idea..
