I have a 2004 Yukon. One of the Fob's used to remotely open/lock doors seems to be getting weak. Can you buy a new battery for these things are do I have to spring for new one?

Thanks for the input.

Is the battery an over the counter type item or do I need to go to the dealer?

Should definitely be over the counter.

Check your manual, it will tell you what battery you need.

On my '06 Yukon, the manual states on page 2-7, Battery Replacement for Remote Keyless Entry System, the battery to be a "three-volt CR2032 or equivalent battery, positive (+) side up".

Looks like a flat watch type battery, but bigger in diameter.

Hope this helps.

I highly recommend you NOT get one over the counter at a grocery store or whatever. They have often been sitting for years and I have a friend that installs alarms and he just pitches those out if someone has them. Brand name doesn't matter, freshness does in these little things.

I'd recommend going to a Batteries+ or equivalent store that specializes in batteries and getting it there. It can mean the difference between lasting a couple of months or a couple of years.

I've never had a problem with any remote battery from a grocery store, wal-mart or target.
