Yeah, not everyone has. I tend to do what my installer friend's recommend, though, since they deal with these daily. I have gotten them over the counter before and immediately had my alarm giving me the "low battery" chirp, though, so there is some truth to it.

I have been replacing my batteries left and right so i went to the dealer and they replaced my FOB for free under warranty.
