Door sill protection

Anyone have a fix to help protect these giant plastic door sills, the ones you step on when getting in and out of vehicle? Mine are getting pretty beat up already. Can’t believe GM made them that big. Going to be quite the eye sore when these vehicles get 10 years old.

I don't step on them, use the running board instead.

And, the online parts houses sell them for like $68 each. Maybe order a set and replace them when they are so bad you can't stand it anymore.
