Double din and speaker upgrades

I have used the search function and I just want to make sure all my bases are checked off. I don't know much about audio or all the specs... what peak wats and RMS all that jazz is

I'm looking at doing the double din conversion in my 02 Denali. It has the Bose with 2 blown speakers. I was looking at doing this cheap deck

Along with all this I will be doing the factory Bose bypass mod that can be found posted here

This should allow my speakers to be used by their full potential/power instead of being throttled by the Bose amp. As well as keep the power going to my speakers in the third row. Will this be a decent setup for around $250 incl wiring harness, mount kits etc. I'm not looking to get to crazy just replace the broken speakers really, and add the back-up cam, aux instead of using my FM transmitter which is getting annoying. The deck says 320W max and the speakers say 350W max? Audio gurus chime in

Your Denali has the Lux amp which is better than the standard amp. I don't think the standard Bose bypass will work and besides, the Lux amp is pretty decent. I suggest using the Bose amp for all the speakers and just upgrade the door speakers with some decent aftermarket ones. They need to be 2 ohm in order to match the Bose speakers or else the output will be low if you use standard 4 ohm speakers. With a new head unit and upgraded speakers you'll be amazed. The only thing that might be lacking at that point would be the sub due to the Bose sub design for the Lux system. It's a bandpass design in the left rear panel and you can't just change the sub due to the weird design. If you're interested in an excellent but kind of expensive solution to the sub you can look in the first few pages of my build thread. The link is below. There are other sub options too or you can just leave it as is.

BTW the Lux amp will be better than any built-in amp in a head unit. It might say 320 w max but that's total for all channels turned all the way up until it's all distorted so it's more like 30 watts per channel. Your Lux amp is better and cleaner. Get a good head unit too or you'll be wasting your time installing that piece of junk Boss.

Your stock radio probably sounds better than that boss head unit will... stay away from boss lol

I just looked at those bypass instructions. They're for a a non- Bose system. Do some research on the different Bose systems. There's a non- Lux standard Bose system and your Lux Bose system. Also, don't forget you'll need a steering wheel control interface. PAC makes ones that are straightforward to install.

if you really want to add the rear camera function I bet you could find a decent used pioneer or kenwood 2 din with backup camera for the same price online

Okay well now my plans are all messed up lol. Anyone recommend some decent 2 ohm speakers with tweeter replacements for the front? I guess I'll leave the back alone for now
