I currently have an Alpine 7" touch screen stereo but it is not dual zone to be able to use the rear dvd separately in my 06 Z71. Was wondering what stereo's you guys are using that are reasonably priced (under $500) that sound and work good.

I am using a Kenwood DNX 693S. Works well for dual zone when the kids need it, and is nice to not have to listen to their movies up front. Right now I play their movies in the rear speakers, but when they are older I will switch it to headphones. I would say that is the most "advanced" feature I use so I'm not asking a lot from it, but Garmin Nav is good, CarPlay is nice (The newer model has a slightly larger screen so it has CarPlay and Android Auto). This is my third DNX unit, and I have been happy with all of them.

I had read some bad reviews of some Kenwood's similar to your model (might of been the same one too). The main thing was that they had issues and didn't last long. So good to hear that yours had been good to you and lasted.

I have only had the current one for about 9 months so far. I had the prior unit for 2 year, and only changed it to get CarPlay. The one I had prior to that in my Silverado for 3 years before I sold it. Those aren't long times, but I didn't have any issues with them, and obviously I keep going back.

I'm not really up on all the car audio stuff, and I'm sure there are many other good choices out there. Really the only reason I got the first one was for the Garmin Nav, and now my wife has become reliant on it, so I keep getting them, but I have been happy with all of them.
