It is a hydro...Whenever I get time I will do the front rubber lines and then find someone to do a Tech2 bleed
Similar thing happened to me, found the front soft lines would open just enough to apply the brakes, closed off after braking never releasing the fluid. New soft (brake line hoses) fixed the problem after the Tech2 assisted bleed.

What's the proper procedure to bleed the abs with a tech2? Have it activate the abs, then start bleeding the calipers 1 by 1?

Doesn't the Tech 2 prompt you for procedure when you select the ABS bleed?

I'm not sure. I activated it once with my Express van--just to see if it would do it. It did, but I never bled the brakes. I felt the brake pedal pulsate.
