I put new brakes on the front (rotors, pads, calipers, hoses) of my Tahoe around 10,000 miles ago, and I've already got warped rotors again. I used the regular parts supply rotors. I'm thinking of swapping to some drilled/slotted rotors to keep them from warping again. I think the cheaper (probably Chinese) rotors just can't stand up to my wear and tear.

Any recommendations on where to buy/what brand to buy?

I have the 6-lug rotors.

Thanks,

Casey

I bought the NAPA Ultra Premium rotors that are drilled and slightly slotted. I live in the mountains and the stock rotors would warp up every single time I drove on this one road with a long, winding, steep decent. The Napa rotors have been on for about 17,000 miles and not a hint of warping. Nice that NAPA is everywhere and they come with a lifetime warranty.

Ignore the description stating they're 5 lug, they are 6 lug as the pic shows.

Just received Powerslot's and Hawks. Will put them on next week. Figured I'd give them a try. Been running Brembo's (not slotted) and Delco pads for years.
The most important thing is to hand torque the lug nuts. They must all be even. Go slow when tightening. Doesn't hurt to loosen a bit and re-torque them every few thousand miles.

Powerslots + Hawk pads.

I run a slotted drilled rotor and hawk pads on the tahoe and I love them. I used to warp crappy rotors all the time. I just ordered some powerslots and hawks for the suburban, I should have them on next week.

Something to keep in mind is that it is possible to warp the rotor by using an impact wrench (putting them on in a circular pattern) to put the lugs on versus the correct star pattern method. A giy we race with who owns a body shop told us that...haven't had the problem since.

Brembo or Powerslot Slotted rotors. Don't use auto parts store brand.

I have 17k miles of mountain/very steep road usage that seems in direct contrast to your statement. All of the GM emergency responder vehicles here in the mountains also are outfitted with the same NAPA rotors when the stockers warp.

I'm curious why you'd issue a blanket statement like that.

That statement was aimed more toward the chinese crap....which is most of it.
