After my hinge pins failed I found out I was really beating up my latch on the pin to the point the latch arm was damaged. Put a new latch assy in both my doors and they worked like new. If you have been slamming that door to get it closed for a while take a close look. Bet you find a good bit of wear on both the pin and latch.

Mine are bith severely worn which im sure is playing hell with the new pins, I'm liking for suitable replacements at our local yard

iirc the rear doors on hoes and burbs are the same latches and usually a lot less worn

I'm doing my hinge pins tomorrow. I hope the latches will be ok. I was looking today and they're pretty worn from being out of whack for a while. Might run to the salvage yard tomorrow to see if I can find some better ones just in case. They're $50 each from LMC.
