I have a 2013 GMC Yukon Denali, bought used 3 years ago. Since I've owned the vehicle I've had a problem with the DIC being too dim in bright sunlight. Sunglasses only complicate the problem. Is there a fix for this or some way to trick the vehicle into turning up the level on the DIC? Center display and instruments are fine and the dimmer works when the headlights are on. I'm tempted to find a used cluster and see if there is a circuit I could modify to brighten things up. Anyone have an idea or fix for this?

So that little stalk to the right of the round light switch cannot change the light level of that part of the display? It took about a week for me to realize that you push on it to release it so it could be adjusted! LOL

That works on mine to brighten the DIC during the day. The only thing I don't like about it is come night time the gauges and nav screen is too bright and I have to turn it down.... Lol

I’ve experienced the same with my 07 Suburban but with my 14 Tahoe the dash lights stay on at all times.

Never noticed it until I bought the suburban last year and could not see the speedometer during daylight because of the shadow.

The dimmer stalk works fine. When you turn it all the way up it causes the dome lights to come on. Turning it down causes both the dash and infotainment system to dim. When driving on the highway at night I prefer the dimmer all the way dim. No other complaints but the poor DIC level during the day.
