I've had this same issue with my passenger mirror. I bought a set off of eBay thinking they were OEM, not realizing the description said it was an OEM REPLACEMENT. Every time I go into reverse, the mirror shoots straight up and shows me the top of my car, and when I put it back into drive it shoots all the way down and shows me my running boards. It only stops when I use the adjuster on the driver's door switch.

Keep an eye on it. I didn't realize this was happening at first, and parked it and the mirror KEPT ADJUSTING ITSELF and killed my battery. I didn't realize the culprit until I got the new battery and got out of my car and heard the mirror glass motor running with the car off, and then put 2 and 2 together. I was not a happy camper for quite a while.

I just ordered a new set of mirrors because I didn't want to risk it happening again, and they shook like crazy on the highway, which made them pretty useless as they made everything look like a giant vibrating blur.

Do you happen to remember who makes those eBay mirrors? I just bought this pair at the recommendation of someone on another forum. Will swap parts and basically just use the eBay mirrors for their folding motors.

They are sold by AM-Autoparts and are model #AM-21849386.
The person has had them for a while and has had no issues.

I don't remember the brand name, but I bought them from that same seller that is in the link you posted (I bought the DL3 with power fold, puddle lamp, mirror signal, "heated"). You might have better luck with them than I did, but just based off of my experience I wouldn't recommend them. They also shook/vibrated uncontrollably at any speed over 35, which made it really difficult to use, especially on the interstate. Also if someone had their headlights on behind me, the shaking mirror would make it like a strobe light flashing in my eyes, it was crazy.

Even if you only use JUST the mirror body casing but put in GM mirrors and such, I think you'll still have the vibrating/shaking issue. I believe it has to do with the quality of the materials that hold the mirror glass in place.

Oh, and they also whistle incredibly loudly. More so than the OEM mirrors. Like I could hear them whistling over the music playing in my car. I'm pretty sure as I was driving down the road dogs were howling as I passed.

TL;DR: Those are essentially the same mirrors I bought, and based off of my experience I would not recommend putting them on your vehicle. But you might have better luck than me.

Just wanted to update others and share. I just finished fixing my mirror this weekend. Sounds like my luck was better than JoRo's but not all great.

The AM part looks pretty good quality. I really only wanted the AM part for the folding motor. Others have said that the GM folding motor is of poor design and is likely to fail. So I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a new GM part only to have it fail again. I ordered the AM mirrors with chrome caps mainly because they were cheaper but intended on using my factory caps instead since they are color-matched to my Tahoe's body.

The good:
1. The AM part is cheaper than the GM part.
2. The AM folding motor is definitely different than GM's. Others say it is a better, more durable design but I can't verify that since I haven't taken either apart.
3. The AM part fits very nicely to the door. Just like factory.
4. I was able to swap the GM mirror and mirror motor into the AM part. Movement of the mirror is normal (moves in the direction you want it to). I have not noticed any shakiness. But I am using the GM mirror and motor in the AM housing. Maybe wobble only occurs when you use the AM part in its entirety (AM housing with AM mirror and motor)?
5. The factory puddle lamp fit in the AM part without a problem.

The not so good:
1. I cracked my original mirror while trying to remove it. Chose the wrong Youtube video to follow (Damn you, Youtube video guy!). A new mirror cost me more than the pair of AM mirror assemblies! :(
2. In removing the chrome cap, the tabs on it broke off. The cap seems to be well made except for the tabs which are way too fragile.
3. The factory caps don't fit on the AM assembly perfectly. I had to do some filing to improve the fit. But it appears that the edge closest to the window varies the greatest. There is a small gap between the cap and the bottom plastic pieces. Most people will never even notice. It is even hard to notice when you are sitting as the front passenger. Good thing is I haven't noticed any whistling from this when driving. I'm not sure what will happen in the rain, though. I live in drought-stricken California so I may not find out for a while.
4. Tabs are easily broken on both the AM and GM parts.

That's it for now. I'll try to post another update after a few months.
