driving light socket?

What the heck is going on here? My bulb has burned out twice in the outlet, and I am really stumped. The socket itself looks like its burned or something? This is the driverside. The passenger has never had a problem.

Its either getting too much power or bad plug. Go to junkyard and get one and try n see what happens

The GM part number is 15306157 if you want to get a new one from the dealer or any auto parts store.

I ordered the part from ebay and it came in yesterday. Going to try installing it later. Both wires on it are white? Any thoughts on if polarity matters?
