So I just got a belltech 2 3-4 drop kit (Thanks Tony!) and just wanted some opinions whether I should go with a 3" or 4" drop in the back. I admit its to damn cold outside for me to do it myself (yeah yeah laugh it up) so my mechanics gonna do it for me.

I didn't replace the shocks yet(gonna see how it rides) and want to know if I go with a 4" drop, do I need to have him cut the bump stop completely off. Just wanted to see what everyone thinks before this gets done on tuesday.

hey man i just lowered my 010 LT with the mcgaughys 2" drop spindles up front and 3" rear coils with shock extenders out back and ill tell u i love it. so far i noticed that looking at it from a back angled view it looks a little lower in the back and a few people mentioned it. also the springs will sag as they break in over time it will lower a little bit. so to answer your question, if you want the back lower or "cali leaning" then go with the 4. if you want a pretty much level stance go with the 3. i have heard on other forums of people taking out the rubber pads on the top and bottom of the spring to get the rear about a .5" thicker so thats something to think about. although the pads are there for a reason and i feel like it would be noisy over bumps. hope this helps. enjoy! ps dont cut the bump stops if you go with the 4" just take them off. i have heard others call it the FREE TRAVEL mod. this way if u ever go back up u have them

Having done the belltech strut/shock kit too I would start higher and go lower. Have them put the 1" spring pad in and then decide if you want it lower.

Easy to take the pad out yourself..............

honestly i went with a 2/4, Thought it sat way to low. Ended up using 1 inch spacer. didnt like that either, tried 1.5 for a bit and still thought it wasnt right. I currently sit on a 2 inch spacer.

I'm in the same boat Going to be changing my rear setup to the belltech 3-4 to try to sit even with my 2 inch front. Gonna try it with the spacer first and see how it sits. Based on the pics i have seen on here, it looks like i will probably be staying with the spacer in. I am taking out a 4 inch DJM spring that sat the rear just a little lower than the front. Eventually when i add a one inch belltech drop strut in the summer i will go the full drop without spacer in the rear.

Sumo, I love the way yours sits, thats exactly what I'm looking for. I am not too savvy on this stuff so bare with me. So, I need to do a 3" rear drop and use a spacer? Is that what your saying?

Went with the same set up.......did the 2/4 first and the back was too low. Put the 1" spacer in the rear.

thanks. I have the beltech 2/3 kit. Spindles in the front, Strut re locators and coils rear. The beltech kit comes with a 1 inch spacer. Without the spacer its a 4' drop in the rear. My pics are using a 1.5 spacer. I recently changed to a 2 inch spacer in the rear

Funny Ian, I just went from 2 to 1.5s when I put air helpers on.

Phil.......a couple things to add. If you tow anything or carry a heavy load you will want to consider helper bags for $80. Also, I now have some 2" rear spring pads if you need them.
