Need a little help,
My 03 Tahoe LT air conditioning quit working and DTC B0229 came up. Everything checks good ( fan speed, air direction, mixed vents, Rear heat )
but the clutch will not engage.
I can jump the Compressor clutch at the AC relay in fuse box and AC works.
I was told that the Recirk Actuator needs replaced. $1200.00

Several Chey dealers said they have never heard of the recirk Actuator not allowing the AC clutch do get power / energized.

Any info?

Thanks, Rob

$1200.00 was labor and the actuator. Would this keep the AC clutch from engaging?

Yes...it has to do with the HVAC control module and the actuators...and with their logic circuit. I could get into it but it's pointless....

Mac or anybody,

Does it sound like the actuator needs replaced and how many hours to replace it. I was Quoted $1200.00 parts included. Sound right?

I appreciate your help, Rob
