Got gas today. Price for E85 went up to $1.80 gal from the $1.65 gal it's been for a while. Premium 93 octane is at $2.47 gal.

Prices went up 25-30 cents a gallon here as well. E85 is around $1.80 and premium $2.55

Not sure if you use the GasBuddy app but they also have a payment option now. Saves 5 cents a gallon at nearly any station. Ties straight to your checking account.

That's cool, too far from me though!

Anyone trying or tried E30? Last 4 tanks averaged 14.78 MPG with alcohol content between 20% and 25%. Twelve previous tanks of 93 without towing averaged 14.78 MPG. Without excessive idling she averaged on 9 of those twelve 15.11 MPG.

The biggest difference is in cost per mile driven; 15 cents a mile versus 23 cents a mile. You know how much that is over the course of a 5,000 oil change? Four Hundred Bucks Less!

Do you blend e85 with regular gas to get e30?

No, purchase it from a Sunoco station in the county. I think they blend it though, the alcohol content has been different almost every time! It's not supposed to be less than 25% alcohol and one tank was 20% and another 23%. I liked the 20% blend as it gave good power and better mileage. Current tank is 26%.

Yes, you can do it that way instead of trying to find a station that offers lower percentage mixes. Thing is, what's listed at the pump will be the maximum ethanol percentage (E30 = maximum 30% ethanol). IIRC the actual ethanol percentage is usually less and is dependent on how they mix it.

EDIT: here in Colorado E85 is not generally available, and I've never seen Sunoco around here, nor a station that offers blends other than E10 and E85. Of course, the E85 mix could be E60. It is what it is.
