2006 Escalade, 79k, aftermarket alarm and stereo

While driving the info center will flash Stability Sys Disabled and the stereo will shut off then back on and TC and Anti Theft warning lights will be on. Turn it off then back on and all is gone. Very intermittent but becoming more common. Also the inside back up sensors will go off and the lights will light up but nothing behind the vehicle. Airbag light will come on occasionally as well.

Obviously an electric issue I’ve been working on. I have replaced the ignition switch and ecm. Nothing changed. Any ideas? Cluster seems fine.

Also having a hard time getting HP Tuners to connect. Will not allow me to upload anything to the vehicle even with the new ecm. Could be me since I’m new to HP but worth mentioning. Thanks guys.

Bad ground somewhere, 99.999999% of the time on these trucks there is a bad ground. Since you’ve replaced the ecm and ignition switch, not sure why tho, always start with grounds. There are more than 1, actually several. Start at battery term and work your way around the engine bay. Frame rails etc....

Thanks, appreciate it, even with the snide remark.... I started with those fixes cause of the U codes I was getting and not being able to connect hp at all before the new ecm. Thought communication was bad. This was also the easiest thing for me to do at the time. But you didn’t ask, just indirectly rude.

JMHO, disconnect the aftermarket security system... With aftermarket security systems it seems like it's not a question of if its going to wreak havoc on the other systems, it's just a matter of when...

Many parasitic battery drains problems are caused by aftermarket security systems as well as issues with the factory security/theft-prevention stuff. And with newer vehicles the measure the factory takes for theft-prevention reach further and further into other systems so the trickle-down effect can be pretty significant.

IE, my wife had a CTS with an Automate bidirectional communication remote security/start system. Frequently, while going down the road, it would pop up a warning message to service security system along with other crap... while driving. Eventually it got a parasitic drain problem so I pulled the fuse for the security system and just used the key to lock/unlock it.
