Ecm ?

Hello,
I have a 2004 Tahoe that I would like to do the e-fan upgrade
The ? that I have is can I get a computer from a 2005-2006 Tahoe
that would have the pins turned on in the computer.
I have a friend that has a tech 2 that can do the ck learn and would the
computer work with my options. I see them on ebay for $40.00 which I think is a cheap way to go if it would work.

I don't think it would be that simple. You'd have to do a lot of research on how the ECM works in 2005 versus your 2004. Different controls for the transmission, different emissions components, etc. Your 2005 PCM will expect to see all the components for a 2005 vehicle. Also the wiring could be a nightmare if there are any major differences, additions or subtractions from other years or pinout changes for the PCM.

Does anyone do a conversion yet? I know PCMforless was doing one for the Trailblazers a few years ago. They might have worked all the bugs out by now and if I remember correctly uses the same setup as the full size trucks where the mechanical cooling fan is concerned.
