Ok, I am going to jump in here and ask a question. The 5.3 in my 02 Tahoe is stock other than CAI and cat back exhaust. Would a tune do anything for me without any internal engine mods?? The motor runs strong and has 180k on it.

I am accumulating parts for a motor build but in reality it will be another year before that is close to being finished. Give me some feedback on what a tune could do for me.......

Thanks.

Rms....the short answer to your question is yes! :) the majority of people who have a blackbear tune have exactly what you have and get great results with the tune :waytogo:

The HD I'm doing a tune on has 196k and we just did longtubes, intake, and full exhaust. These lsx engines will run forever if you take care of them.

cost is around $550 and you can contact them via this site as they are a vendor of the site. Their website is www.blackbearperformance.com

With having just CAI and 3 inch cat-back exhaust, I gained 50hp. I did their dyno tune in Temecula, CA, but the street tune should be no different.

wow....nice gain. I think the one thing I would do is a cam swap and then do the tune after the install. What do you guys think about that??
