So it appears I have solved my problem. A few days ago the service 4wd message came up, followed yesterday by the transmission seeming to be stuck in 3rd gear. Pissed and tired of messing with it I decided to take it to the Chevy dealership. Before I did I hooked up the Diablosport tuner I had on it to restore the factory tune. Once the factory tune was back on all my problems disappeared just as quickly as they started. I've been driving for two days now, no cooling fans on high, no trans problems, and 4wd works perfectly. Not sure what caused all this but I'm glad that it seems to be fixed.

If only we could have all known it was that simple. Now we all have to remember that if someone has cooling fans problems and the plethora of other problems we will have to ask if the factory tune has been changed and if so then put back to stock and see what happens. Sheeeesh!
