IF you're as concerned about the planet as you post, why not sell your gas guzzling 2012 Yukon and CTS-V sports Caddy? Show us how it's done, chief. The Chevrolet Trax should suit you well.
im not advocating against gas guzzlers, im advocating for EVs. there is zero reason why they have to be mutually exclusive.
neither one of those has been driven even 5k miles this year...meanwhile i've put almost 45k miles on the subaru. before that about 150k on a ford cmax phev in about 3 years.
I am someone who literally fills up every other day, the constraints of an EV are precisely why I cannot have a full electric. but for 75% of people that commute less than 30 miles a day, that have a set schedule, a set route, dont give a shit about what their vehicle is as long as it gets them from a to b it makes a lot more sense to ramp up EV production

We all basically know where others stand at on this topic and at this point i really think the thread should die as it has been going on for 500 comments about which side is better and whole folks are still being nice, its getting testy. We all have our opinions of gassers vs evs/hybrids. If your an ev fan? Go for it. Nobody is stopping you. You prefer gas/diesel? Ride on.

We are making progress. Everything takes time. Charging times are getting less and less. Its still cheaper then gas or diesel.
This is false. My cousin is an engineer for GM and they have done the math there and it’s not cheaper for electric.
Energy prices fluctuate just like gas. So as gas goes up, so does propane, Natural gas and electricity.

For an average consumer driving ~1 tank of fuel a week (this was ford lightning compared to f150) cost is the same.

This was computed during this past fall when gas prices were higher too.

It doesn’t take an engineer to do this math. To your point it will vary by current energy prices in your region but on average electric will be cheaper. Electric rates in my region tend to be lower than the national averages…curious what yours would be.

500 miles at 2 miles per kWh (ford lightning) @0.1459 = $36.47 with my current rate.

500 miles at 20MPG average (F150) @3.29 a gallon = $82.25

Because people like that are hypocrites. Do as I say, not as I do. They enjoy the disinformation they spew. I personally don’t have an issue with hybrids or EVs as there is a place for them, they just won’t be the replacement that some of the weak minded ones think.

You ok man? No one is hurling insults here except you. Sheesh.

But to your point no vehicle manufacturer is investing any money into next gen ice powerplants. So regardless of what you think the ev future is all but guaranteed.

I‘m all good man. Thanks for asking. Are you ok? You seem awful sensitive. It’s ok to let it out, have a good cry. It’s going to be ok. ICE motors will continue to be developed and improved for many, many years to come. Even Jeep just came out with their next generation inline 6 cylinder ICE engine. Its ok to be sensitive, just cool it with the disinformation.
