Ok guys, here is the problem...

99 chevy tahoe 4dr Z71

My 7 year old was playing with my factory keyless entry remote, I took it away from him and everything was working ok. Later I tried to unlock my doors and the remote didn't work...no big deal I figured, probably just a fuse. That night, I turned on my headlights and noticed that my ac/heater control head did not illuminate, but all controls work ok, (all other dash lights work also). No big deal I figured, probably just a fuse.

Today I tried to troubleshoot the remote/ac illumination problem. All fuses are good and the ac illumination wire (grey wire) is hot at the control head when I activate my lights and the ground (black wire) is good too.

This is all of the information my haynes repair manual has to offer and it doesn't even reference the keyless entry circut/components...so what the hell??? :emotions122:

1. What is the correlation between the keyless enrty circut and the ac control head illumination, especially if the control head illumination circut is getting power to the control head? ...or is this merely a coincidence?

2. Where can I find schematics of the keyless entry circut?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The keyless entry has somewhat of an interference to the illumination problem you're having. When you arm/disarm it, lights on the car flash to notify what you just did. It's probable that your son kept on pressing it and possibly burnt out those bulbs (which is hard to do.) I've never had a problem with those lights. Your keyless entry can be looked up. Punch in the brand name and model number in Google and print out a manual.
