Have '03 Tahoe that really started acting up this morning. I have had other issues but nothing like this. When I got to work my lights wouldn't shut off. Had to pull the + cable on the battery and get back to work. When I hooked the battery back up there is a laundry list of things that wont work. Head lights work but no brights. Can control front windows but not rear. Electric locks wont work. Keyless wont work. Interior lights wont work. Mirror Temp/Compass indicator is off. Traction Control is off, not normal. Im sure there are more items but that's all I have identified as of yet. I am sure it is a fuse, control module, or failure of some component on a circuit board somewhere. Could it be some wire harness somewhere? Any one else experience an issue like this? Any suggestions on where to start?

ive heard a bad battery can do some funky things. I would also look into a bad body control module. I think most of the things you are having problems with are controlled by the BCM.

As of this morning my 2005 won't start, but has accessory power and the radio stays on even with the key out. It worked fine last night. Any ideas?

Thanks for the input. Still have the exact same issues 4 months later. All the research I have done since then does point to my BCM. The problem is I cannot find much information about how to replace it. For my model it seems to be located under the steering column/dash. I plan on replacing it with a new one. Getting to it seems like a bit of a pain but I think i can handle it.

So my question is will that new unit need to be programmed by a shop to work properly? Is there a learning sequence I could do my self? Will the keyless entry and radio work again? Any input or guidance would be appreciated before I even attempt.

im no expert in this area but from a few quick searches it seems you would need to pay the dealer to program the bcm or do it yourself if you have the tools.
