I understand how it functions, that's one of the reasons for wanting the air suspension package. But GM only references it in Terrain mode in the owner's manual.
How do you know it's active all the time? I find it odd that's the only mode it's referenced in. I hope it's not the case but if it is I'll truly be disappointed.
Sounds like pedantic minutiae, but there is a critical difference between
enabled all the time
and
active all the time.

It's like how some people carelessly confuse the words 'disable' and 'delete'.

It's always enabled all the time, but I've yet to suffer priapism ...

I would expect in a couple modes that the differential would be engaged until there's a significant wheel speed difference. It takes quite a bit of wheel spin before it engages.

My hopes were more than how the system was designed. We're planning on using ours for some off roading this year, significantly more than the what they did in this video. Wish GMC offered an AT4X version of the Yukon, I would have been all in.

the way gm has these setup it is on demand only, there is no "full time" mode, for that you would have to go aftermarket if there is even anything available. Not too many off-road company's offer a line for gm suv's. you see this more for the small pickup line (Colorado/Canyon) and Silverado/Sierra.
If you are planning on taking it off-road like they did in the video or even more extreme, set aside money for a paint job afterwards
the paint is paper thin on these and you will have battle scars guaranteed.
I paid $27k for my silverado 4x4 hi/lo, lifted it 4.5", put on 33" tires, added air suspension in the rear that gives me about another 4" of adjustable body lift, added a winch, d-rings,
I have a variety of equipment to self-extract if needed
and she gets battle scars pretty easily still, some of this may buff out but no point at this time. it is what it is...
I sure wouldn't take a 100k vehicle out and beat it up though I would just be mad about it
