I have a alpine h/u with an 800 watt kenwood amp powering 2 12" pioneer premiere shallow mounts. Ill try switching the remote wire to the blue and white like you said.

Well the blue and white thump eliminator wire worked haha. Thanks for letting me know of that before I got pissed that the big 3 wouldn't solve that problem. Idk why every other forum said that it fixed that. Thanks again guys

shouldnt the one wire from alt to batt have some sort of fused link? i have been wanting to do this "big 3" upgrade and have tons of wire, connectors but i've been holding off. i thought i would need a separate fuse holder in line like the factory ones?

you can fuse the line i guess if you wanted to but its not needed. all your doing is upgrading stock, if stock doesnt have a fuse you dont need to use a fuse just b/c your upgrading to a larger gauge wire

naw.. more current.. i dont have 1/0 from my alt to batt, i have 2/0 but i might go all out and do 4/0 under the hood with 2 runs of 4/0 to the back and 1/0 into the amps.. nothing but current.

Please excuse my ignorance:idiot: but what is 1/0, 2/0,4/0? I'm guessing the second # is the gauge but what is the first#?

1/0 is the same thing as 0
2/0 is also refereed as 00
3/0 000
4/0 0000

to give you an exact rundown i pulled this up:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_wire_gauge

i'd love to experience my big 3 done in 4/0. as i mentioned before, the big 2500 and 3500 diesel dodge rams have 2/0 already. 4/0's is only common in 18 wheelers and gigantic construction trucks.

(Day dreaming) dual 300amp alts with anything larger than 2/0. big 3 done in anything larger than 2/0 and multiple runs of larger than 2/0 to the back of the truck and other batteries, wet dream over LMFAO
