I heard the vinyl shrinks after sun exposure. I broke down and spent the 90 bucks for the GM parts. Installed in less than ten minutes.

I went OEM and got Illuminated black front and black rear. Expensive but will last forever.

I just wrapped these emblems on a Colorado. Changed the chrome to black and the gold to white. I completely took them off the truck to do them right.. I use 3M 1080 vinyl and never have issues with them peeling, cracking, fading, or "shrinking from the sunlight". Oh, did the tail lights too, minus the reverse portion of the lens.

I wanted to get an RST grill too. But the trim above the headlight would have need to get painted or wrap and that sounds like to much to mess with.
I will post a review with pics of the emblem but what I do like about it is how subtle it is in term of light output
