Just bought one last Friday and it had a 2023 Essential Operating and Safety Manual in it. Plus a 10? page pamphlet called Getting to Know Your Yukon. They call these Guides. Manuals must have lots more info and is downloadable from GMC.com.Anyone know about GMC vehicles? I just emailed the salesman who I've purchased multiple vehicles from and he is adamant that they no longer provide paper copies.
Hmmm. I tried hitting the park assist button (light goes out) and tried alert only in infotainment. Stupid truck still holds brake to keep me from backing onto my lift, making me press the accelerator to move, which is an accident waiting to happen. They don't come with a paper copy of the Owner's manual anymore. I just downloaded a pdf copy. I actually had to google to find out how to turn off reverse active braking (RAB). Its the park assist button on the left hand side- thanks WalleyemikeIII
My wifes Yukon has 2 quirks, the Reverse Active Braking, which I turn off when backing, the other is the Active Hill Assist , which I despise just as much. The Active Hill Assist is engaged when you are on an incline of 5% or more, it holds the brakes for 1.5 seconds after you take your foot off the brake. I just take my foot off the brake and wait, and wait, and wait, finally starts moving with just the engine idle. My brain thinks it's longer than 1.5 seconds, I haven't timed it to see if my brain is right, or the owners manual.Hmmm. With a nice dangerous jerk. Getting on the lift was a pucker event... I found just gentle pressure on the gas pedal works, too, but you gotta kind of time it, getting off before it releases. Stupid design. #lastnewcarI thought if you taped the accelerator pedal it would release the active hill assist.
