Now that is has been in the teens every morning this week i have noticed the tahoe not happy with the temps at start up early morning.. i am thinking a engine heater... any suggestions guys??

Id start off with a lighter weight oil..There is no reason you should need a block heater SC..

Lighter oil, maybe check your battery to make sure you're getting good cold-crank power.

I'm in Alaska and don't have a block heater and never have issues with my Denali. Sure, it doesn't start quite the same as when it's warm, but it still turns over just fine.

Block-heaters are fairly cheap, though. Not a difficult install typically either. Last one I did get was less than $100 installed, but it's been years.
