A 6.0l, 4.8l and 5.3l (GM) are all externally the same dimension, its the computer/programming, wiring and some other odds and ends that may pop up like the radiator is what can make it a hassle for the average joe. Finding a used gen3 engine with low enough miles to make it worth even messing with is getting more impossible every minute that goes by. car-parts.com has a search engine for used engines and you can sort by distance and cost. Most will ship the engine to you.

No, pulled the engine, because that’s what I thought was wrong. Saw the scar on the converter, saw the bolt on the trans, grabbed the converter still attached to the flex plate and got the engine to budge by hand... removed, locktited, reinstalled every pump bolt one at a time, reassembled.
In hind sight, same repair is easier taking out the trans. If you’ve had recent trans work, I’d start by doing the minimum work to separate the engine and trans 1/4” and try to turn the engine.

Very true. Engines rarely lock up without warning or noises that have gone on for awhile unless there is an event such as overheating, low/no oil pressure, rod has been knockin, main bearing growl, etc right before she dies. OP, did you have any problems before she locked up? Pull the starter to see if it will spin with a breaker bar at crank? Sure its no a locked up alternator, idler/tensioner pulley, water pump, power steering pump? Pull the belt and see if it will turn over.

Yep, usually a locked engine is a result of something and not the very first thing that shows up. Like blown head gaskets are typically from overheating but typically not what caused the overheating. Like a water pump goes out and then overheats and blows head gaskets. You can replace the head gaskets but the original problem, water pump, is still there.

Ticking which made me thought it was the lifters then it got louder parked it the next day it would not start tryed jumping it no luck went to the starter nothing. Motor will not turn over used a breaker bar tryed to turn the motor over by hand and nothing.

Did you pull any plugs to see if there is anything in the cylinders that would hydro lock the engine? But if there is a fluid in there than sitting overnight should allow the fluid past the rings and allow for the engine to spin at least a little. Oil would take longer but that seems very unlikely to have happened. I would be curious about the trans and flex plate area to inspect.

Loose converter bolts make the worst racket!
