Engine oil cooler

I recently changed my radiator in a 2001 yukon xl 1500, they made a mistake in the auto parts and gave me the one with the engine oil cooler, it was too late to return so i installed the unit. Can i get the hoses for the engine oil cooler and connect them ? My car did not have them installed. Will there be an advantage to this?

I read some people removing the oil cooler lines, if so can you also add them?
