mine leaks oil if the dealer doesn't put the plug all the way back in after an oil change. Try lugging down on the plug first, then maybe your lower pan gasket..? I know mine is fixing to go after 250k..

Possible but unlikely as I change my own oil.

I've been under the truck lately looking for oil leak origin.

As stated above it's coming from high up as in top of block.

High then rear main seal.

Pull the little inspector cover off the transmission bell housing with a blade screw driver. Take a flashlight and look up into the bell housing. Is there oil on the center of the flywheel or is it just on the outside edge of the flywheel? If it's in the center of the flywheel it's the rear main.

I have an oil leak I could not track down. The back of the oil pan would be wet, but the oil was up high covering the starter and above the oil filter also. Oil would drip out of the weep hole where the transmission connects to the motor.

I had the rear main replaced, rear cover on the motor replaced, oil cooler block off replaced, drain plug replaced. Still leaked.

Replaced the oil pan gasket and it's been dry as a bone ever since. Install with parts should run about $125 if it's a 2 wheel model.

That's a great tip. Didn't think to do that and I will do that to double check it is not the rear main seal.

Oil is definitely leaking from up above oil pan gasket.

I will inspect oil pan gasket to make sure though!!

Great tip thanks for the advice and your two cents. Cheers

I checked rear main. Appears dry. Leak persists.

I'm leaning towards valley cover.

I hit a deer and I'm still rebuilding front end with used parts.

Rear end also appears to be acting up.

I'm not sure if I will fix this leak.
