Hi all. I need some assistance with my 03 YukonXL that sometimes stalls whenever the climate control kicks on and the air conditioner compressor starts. I can sense the low idle and stall when letting gas pedal up at slow speeds and compressor is on.
When this vehicle was new, and the compressor kicked on, the idle speed would increase a few hundred rpm's. Is there a electro-magnetic switch that I need to have replaced?
Thank you for any help with this matter.

if it only stalls when the a/c compressor kicks on that means the clutch in the compressor is shot and you should either fix it or replace it

Best way to isolate if it's the A/C compressor like mentioned is the remove the A/C belt and see if it stalls out on you anymore!

Mine is doing almost the same thing. It doesn't stall, but the idle drops considerably when the AC is on. It idles around 4-500 rpm at most. And when its idling that low, it shakes a lot and it feels like it wants to stall but it never does. And here is another baffling thing, it idles smooth as hell once I turn off the AC. And this doesn't happen every single time I have the AC on, probably 75 percent of the time though. And the compressor is making no noises or chattering at all, it sounds fine.

Hi Scotty I just had that happen to me the other day. When I had the rear on the rpm went low and it made my car stall. I was able to start it again but want to correct the problem before it gets any worst. If anyone hears of a fix let me know. I want to wish everyone a great holiday.

I think ya'll should clean your idle air control valve with some carb cleaner or something. Two small torx heads and electrical connector. Its on the right hand side of the throttle body. Spray a little carb cleaner and brush it clean. Its black to begin with so don't get carried away and also do not adjust it or try to remove the pintle.
