Engine temp

I went thru a car wash and my engine temp got higher than 210 what can it go up to before its too hot? Also it happens when I'm stopped for more than like 4 min. Also what should me transmission temp be at. I looked at the gauge and it said 199 while I was getting a car wash. Should I be alarmed or am I just worrying?
