Engine tilted down toward firewall

The continuing saga of my 2001 YukonXl 2500 SLT 4WD….
Noticed that the engine is tilted up at front, down at back toward firewall. I know that it didn't used to be like this. I replaced the serpentine belt and all was straight up and down. But that was before the fiasco that left me in limbo for 2 years and trying to clean up the mess for the last 2.5 years.

The last thing that was done was to get the tailpipe up off the crossmember. The muffler shop guy used a pry-bar to lift it and then ‘strapped’ in place. Didn’t notice the tilt prior to that - doesn’t mean it wasn’t there…

I have been suspect of the O’reilly motor mounts since I got it back in 2022. Tranny mounts could be suspect, too, I guess.

Would appreciate ideas as to what else to check?

That looks like every engine bay I've ever seen without the engine cover on. I'm not seeing a problem here. If the engine was tilted high in the front, wouldn't you think the fan would contact the fan shroud?

Does that have a clutch fan on it? It's been a minute since I've been under the hood of an 01.

So, tilted toward the firewall but not touching, correct? Fan blade not hitting shroud? Does it drive funny or vibes? Check all mounts and that all components are bolted together as should be.

Thank you for your replies - Will check the fan and see what I can on the mounts. Seems to me that being off kilter the way it is would cause excessive wear on the belts. Does NOT look normal to me and like I said - it was very up and down when I replaced the serpentine belt. I am no expert but I know enough to recognize when something is different.

Does it drive funny - hard question. It is not the same since I had it refurbished. Hell, I’m not even sure he put the same engine back in. Not as powerful for sure. It clunks at slow speed when going over a bump and/or turning. Have had several mechanics throw parts at it and still happening. About to give up on it but have a sh..load of $ into it. Hard choices.
The engine cover is off because he put the wrong one back on. Another reason I question the actual engine he put in. I have the correct cover but haven’t put it on because I’m still having so much work done.

The engine angle won't affect the belts -- their pulleys are attached to the block and to accessories (like the alternator, etc.) that are also attached to the block. They won't change position in relation to the block. Put that worry out of your mind.
