Also says reduced engine power. My 2009 tahoe was sitting for a few days waiting to get afm deleted on my pcm and I put it back and now it will crank but won’t start any suggestions where to start? Was running perfectly before.
I disconnected the battery and the reduced engine power doesn’t come up anymore and I don’t have a fuel pressure gauge right now out the moment but I hit the gas tank a couple times still no luck.disconnect the battery to try and reset the reduced engine power and check fuel pressure.
"generally" reduced engine power is a throttle body error, but unless it is stuck open or something that really should not prevent it from starting.
if you have low or no fuel pressure then try hitting the bottom of the gas tank with a dead blow/mallet a few times.
you could check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail by grabbing some sun glasses glasses or safety glasses, pull the plastic cover off the top of the engine and look for the shrader valve on the fuel rail, remove the plastic cap (looks like a inner tube cap, turn the key on to run and then go back to the valve and depress the center pin with a small flathead and see if any fuel sprays out. no smoking cigarettes while doing this! lolI disconnected the battery and the reduced engine power doesn’t come up anymore and I don’t have a fuel pressure gauge right now out the moment but I hit the gas tank a couple times still no luck.
Fuel did spray out what next?you could check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail by grabbing some sun glasses glasses or safety glasses, pull the plastic cover off the top of the engine and look for the shrader valve on the fuel rail, remove the plastic cap (looks like a inner tube cap, turn the key on to run and then go back to the valve and depress the center pin with a small flathead and see if any fuel sprays out. no smoking cigarettes while doing this! lol
I couldn’t hear it I even had someone else turn the key and I went next to the gas cap and couldn’t hear itWhen you turn the key to the "on" position can you hear the fuel pump run for a second or two?
Pull the intake off of the throttle body see if the butterfly plate is stuck open or closed most of the way and moves with your fingers with some resistance back and forth, you should be able to push it on top and then it will go back to where it was on it's own.Fuel did spray out what next?
will check in morning when light but it sounded pretty normal when starting no difference.Pull the intake off of the throttle body see if the butterfly plate is stuck open or closed most of the way and moves with your fingers with some resistance back and forth, you should be able to push it on top and then it will go back to where it was on it's own.
Also does it sound normal when trying to start it? Or is it making any new noises?
