Engine whine?!?!

Looking for some help here. Started my Denali up this morning (09 Yukon) and can hear a loud whining coming from the engine bay..

It almost sounds like it's coming from the intake area?!?!? It gets louder as the RPM's go up though. Almost like something connected to the belt and gets louder as the engine revs?!??

I thought maybe a bearing or something in the alt or wp but it almost sounds like it's coming from the upper part of the engine.

A 5 dollar mechanic stethoscope from harbor freight will help trace it out more.

Could be the Jewish princess whining in the background again. I agree with the stethoscope idea. Inexpensive and a must for tracing down noises. Take the belt off and see if noise goes away.

It was the alternator........... Getting replaced at this very moment. [emoji19]
