I we talking about the cluster ? i can confirm it works the plugs all line up, all the functions work ect. just the odometer was blank. none of the mounts line up and its noticeable bigger in size, the lower dash does not let it sit in place. I'm picking up the escalade cluster trim tonight and maybe will get some pic tomorrow

Definitely will need some cutting , not defeated yet , lol the dash trim will have to be fabricated, gonna try to get another suburban one to cut up . Gonna see how much material I can cut off the Escalade cluster (weight reduction) lol

Looks like you are ahead of me. I already knew it wouldn't be a direct swap in, when my goal is, is to swap the internals of the Esky IC, into the frame of suburban IC. That is my hopeful goal. Both of my IC's have shown up, and i intend on taking them apart to see if they can be frankensteined together into the stock frame some how.

The 22 and up look to use the same plug as well, gonna see what the size difference is and plug one in,

While the plug is the same, the CANBUS network runs on a different architecture. So it might boot up, but it won't be able to communicate with the rest of the vehicle and won't actually work

If someone were to get a 21+ digital dash, i think the goal for that would be to move the computers/module from an esky IC to behind the screen on a 21+ screen and frame. Basically try and keep just the frame and screen, as that would solve all the fitment issues. But that's assuming you can swap the modules over that actually run everything. that would be beyond my skill set personally. But that's how i could see it being done

That’s what I was thinking but the bigger issue would be (as you pointed out) the control modules playing nice with everything else. There is so much integrated into that screen I would not even have a clue where to start… or what might be integrated.

I confirmed with WAMS, it is an entirely different network type, so nothing would interact correctly. That's not to say it's not possible. It just means you would need extensive knowledge of the systems to make it work. In the mopar world there is a guy who almost got everything on a 13-18 interior from a truck working in a 06 truck. And his modifications to make it work and communicate with the rest of the truck was extensive and even after figuring out most of it, there was still a decent amount he never could get working. Modern systems aren't as simple as the older 12v systems. In todays vehicles everything is controlled over a network of computers and modules which allow the vehicles to do so much more then older rigs, without the need for the extensive wire harness that would have been required 20-30 years ago. The down side to the digital age, is that when two systems are running on two different languages, its generally nearly impossible to get them to communicate correctly

Basically, you would need a canbus tranlaster / gateway module to read everything from both systems, access to both systems DBC files, and then from there you would need to write a program that can translate both sides of it to make the systems work together. Not impossible, but you need someone that is very tech savvy to do it. And i will be honest, i am not the guy for that. I'm not afraid of hacking something together, but the tech side of it needs to work together from the get go, if the issue is fitment, there are plenty of ways to make things fit

Also, the more i look at the comparison photos, the more i'm pretty sure this can work. Keep in mind, even after transferring the internals around, the IC will need to get sent off the WAMS to get programmed. And depending on the donor your got, it may not work. I spoke to WAMS prior to ordering If you are like me, and are looking to also add carplay at the same time, ONLY a 2016 IC will work for you. That has to do with the programming on the tech savvy side of things which i'll be relying on WAMS for so that everything works after the fact. But assuming my half of the plan works, this will be a worthwhile project for me to have one of the only properly done Esky ICs on the planet. Kinda like how my 18 ram is one of the only handful in existence to have factory blind spot monitoring. Sometimes manufacturers just don't offer everything you want, so you have to rifle through their parts bins to get it.
