I didn't notice the "gills", so I had to do some research. Here's a better pic. Now that I see the whole hood, I'm with Robbie - don't do it.

The grilles can be chrome like in the above pic, or color matched like in the op pic and the wdt pic. The fact that they're not noticeable is what makes the whole thing subtle.

Color matched vents would look good on the hood IMO

Like I said, they come in two variations, makes sense to put the chrome ones on a platinum, color matched ones on a premium.

Btw, this wdt plat may or may not be the same truck I posted ... I've never seen Murphy's truck with a front lp bracket on.
