Escalade third brake Light

why didnt it fit? not doubting you know what youre doing but it makes little sense for gm to make two different windows? thats 2 part numbers and more money making them

update fellas and i have bad news,

so for those of you who want to do this, swapping out the housing and Escalade LED light will not fit on a regular Chevy Tahoe Glass. the Holes from the Escalade housing wont aligned with the holes of the stock Tahoe glass. so looks like i'll be in the market for a Escalade Rear Glass also "son of a *****" FML

That plastic around the 3rd brake like on your 'hoe, did that only come on 2006 models? What is that piece called?

well after looking at my plastic housing and the Escalade housing, they both have three holes in them to bolt the screws in them. so i highly think they do fit.. im gonna have the Escalade housing painted tomorrow. so i'll probably do this swap hopefully by the end of the weekend..

i know a couple members have done this mod, please lmk

I'm here, I'm here, I just saw this post. I replaced my whole window. It did look like it would fit though? I just went for the straight swap since I didnt like the window handle stuck out on the 05 & 06 back windows.

That rear window with the large plastic piece on top came on the 05 & 06 models of the suburban, tahoes, & denali's, name of the plastic piece is a mystery.

Like riso said, the glass for 05/06 is a little different, the rubber doesnt go all the way around, instead there is a plastic handle on the bottom part of the glass for 05/06. Because they are different glass i am assuming there are different part numbers for the esky brake light as well for the different years. The entire glass piece will swap out directly though. I know it is always hard to find these parts, but i would recommend trying to get the glass and the brake light together. I have the extra glass from my 05 Denali that has the plastic handle only, if someone needs it thinking they got that third brake light that fits this glass type.. Good luck..

Stock LED.. Smoked..back then when i had my taillights smoked also had the body shop smoke the third brake light also.. Yours if i get my hands on a Escalade Glass.

My 05 does not have glass like that. It has the rubber all the way around it. I thought that was just 06. Did they change half way through 05?
