I have a quick question for you. I just purchased a Certified 09' Tahoe LTZ, the drivers side mirror needs to be replaced under warranty. I would like to know if $600.00 is a good price to have both replaced by the stealership. This includes painting and installation. They are charging me an extra $60.00 for the upgrade on the drivers side and $405.00 for the passenger side. $100.00 to paint the two and installation of passenger side.

I'm wondering if I shouldn't try to find a passenger side elsewhere, any help with that would be appreciated, and go with the upgraded drivers side from dealership. If I'm only gonna save like $100.00 running around and getting them painted myself, to me it's not worth it, but if I can save hundreds then maybe.

Also, they quoted me $405.00 for the chrome luggage rack, but he didn't have a photo and wasn't sure if it was the entire rack. Does anyone know if that sounds rite? Or would someone have the correct part number?

Thanks in advance, Mike:Handshake:

I got mine for about $400 total... I guess $600 isn't bad if you just want to get it done and over with and not have to do anything yourself...

Thanks Nathan

No, $200.00+ is worth the leg work. Will pay the extra $60.00 to upgrade the warranty replacement and start the hunt for a passenger side mirror. Any suggestions where to pick one up? Unfortunately patience isn't a virtue I was born with. Guess I'll postpone the appointment until I have the other one. Wouldn't want to have two different mirrors, that would bug the hell out of me.

Well, I can see I'm gonna have the modding addiction again.

A good set of Esky mirrors will cost $300-400 before paint and labor so I guess if you just wanted it done right away and didn't want to install them yourself then $600 isn't too bad.

That would be nice! Did you pick them up used? everything I've seen so far has issues/scratches in the chrome and need painting.. I've noticed the 07-08 have dotted turn signals. Is it as simple as changing the mirrors?

By the way, is it normal that the right mirror does NOT dim when the rear view and left mirror do? Thought I read somewhere that it doesn't, but I cant remember , I've taken in so much info in the last week. Would be nice if I could get them both swapped under warranty.

Thanks again.

BTW, that is a sharp truck!

It's real simple to swap the mirrors. they literally pull off and then just disconnect a wire.

Yes.

They weren't perfect, a couple of tiny scratches on the chrome and the glass, the caps were good. For $350 I was actually happy to deal with that especially since finding the newer version with the solid arrow and blind zone alert in White Diamond, is not easy.

Plus I learned something when I did this conversion on my previous truck: Bank drive through marking poles are *******! They leap at you out of nowhere and attack your mirrors. It's true! Also drivers in DC can't judge their car's dimension on a two way street worth of shit. Basically they don't stay perfect for long.

Thank you sir. :Handshake:

Leaving the airport my old lady hit one of those poles paying for the parking fee right on the driver side mirror. Thats the second time she'***** a non moving object in the Esky this year...
