exhaust tip ideas?

I am about to swap mufflers on my '05 Z71 Tahoe I thought I might add a weld on tip while I was at it. As i look around the net most tips seem to be 2.5" The stock pipe looks to be either 2.75" or 3". What tips do you guys use?

Here is mine, 4" inch Chrome Tip.

In the meantime, I cleaned the stock pipe up a bit and painted it all black. Looks a lot better now then what it looks like on the 2nd pic, as the weld seam is no longer as obvious as in the picture.

I have a 4" tip. Just make sure you get it welded on.

Black chrome tips just don't do it for me, they have a dirty look to them most of the time.

What diameter is the rear tail? Where did you guys get your tips, from the exhaust shop?

you are right , no clean nothing looks better imo but its hard to keep them clean

I believe it is 3".

I as well think it is 3" inches.

However, an easy way to figure it out is go to the truck, equipped with a tape measure and measure it.
