^X1 - DO IT, but as mentioned at a muffler shop and not with an Autozone Tip.

I had mine done at a Muffler Shop and am happy with it.

To OP, also check out longer length exhaust tips. It will hide the bend in the exhaust pipe when looking at your rig from behind. Also avoids the look of a skinny exhaust pipe with a fat tip on the end.
