Folks,
I have a private, 3 day session setup with Overland Experts in CT for March 12-14th. This is the premier company on the east coast and known globally for their work.

EDIT: Date changed to next week week - 19th, 20th, 21st.

With my 6mo expedition coming up, I knew I needed professional training and there was a ton of positive info on these guys all over the net - they actually train our special forces units.

I spoke with Bruce (CEO) and this 3 day session is setup specifically for Full Size vehicles with IFS. Again, this is a private group and I'm keeping it small.

If you're interested, they have vehicles there (i.e. Land Rovers) or you can use your own. If you use your own, at the minimum you will need front & rear recovery points, 2 sp transfer case and 4 wheel drive (which almost all of our vehicles have on this site).

For recovery points, spend $35 and you can get a D-ring mounted to the trailer hitch in the back...the front is a little bit tougher, but I'm sure someone on here has an easy solution for mounting a strong recovery point.

The first day is beginner and then it progresses from there...but you can come just for the first day if you like.

If you'd like to join, PM me and I'll send you the details. Depending on how many people join, expect to spend $200 - $300 per day.

When I found out these guys were in CT, I was so pumped...I seriously can't wait.

There's no minimum, so I'm going either way...if anyone wants to join, the more the merrier!

Oh MAN! I would love to do this, but I don't know if I can pull it off on weekdays. Work always gets in the way of fun!!! If I can pull this off, I will PM you for more details.

I spent a day with Bill Burke and highly recommend him. I think these kinds of service providers can be very helpful. I'm confident I drastically shortened my learning curve and saved way more than the tuition. Learning things the hard way can be very expensive.

You hit the nail on the head!! A lot of stuff I'm asking Bruce to show us is how to drive our rigs close to the limits and NOT break them. Everyone complains about IFS and how weak it is...but I think if you know how to drive on it, it's an excellent setup (especially for those w/dd duties)

Also, really simple stuff like...I have a 8.5" IFS, when one wheel is spinning quickly and other one is stuck...what happens when that fast spinning wheel gains instant traction?? (I dont think most ppl know that answer)

We'll also learn how to drive with different rears (open, auto, selectable, limited slip etc), recovery techniques, etc

There is seriously so much to learn which is why I asked for 3 days.

Ummm so you're taking a class to learn how to go wheeling? Maybe you're not ready for a 6 month expedition.
