Extended crank after hot soak!!!

Hey guys new to the forum sorry if im about to write a book here. I recently bought a 07 Tahoe 5.3L flex fuel. I love it except for the fact that every time i drive it and it sits for 30min or more when i go start it it will start and then die right away then when i try to start it again it will crank for about 5 seconds before it actually starts. I have hooked up a fuel pressure gauge and let it sit after driving it and my pressure drops from 55 to about 30 in one hour. But once I cycle the key on the pressure comes right back up to 55. I have already replaced the fuel pump thinking it was the problem. I have also lifted the fuel rail to take a look at the injectors to see if they are leaking but no luck even though my pressure still drops within an hour just sitting there. Any ideas? I have been searching everywhere but mainly people point to the fuel pump.

Do you use E85? I know my 09 6.2 Tahoe will have an extended start sometimes when I use E85. It doesn't stall out or anything, but it sometimes takes 10 seconds to fire

Pull off the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator. If you smell gasoline, it's leaking. Raw gasoline will be in the intake and will cause extended cranking. If you leave it for a day, the residual gasoline evaporates and you can start normally. I've experienced this several times.

I am not running e-85 im runing 87 at the moment.

It doesnt have an external fpr its all in the fuel pump. I think 07 they got rid of external regulators.

Does anyone know how fast the fuel pressure should drop after it sits.
