Did anyone buy extended warranty for their Yukon/Tahoe? The dealer that I bought it from offered it to me at a 15% discount but I wasn't sure if that was a good deal or not?

Are you guys buying it and if so, are you getting a discount?

Never.

It comes with a three year bumper to bumper.
Who buys warranty on top of warranty?

^ Exactly.

The thing has a 5yr/100k power train, that covers the expensive stuff.

Use the $$ to take the Mrs/Mistress to Vegas and profit!?!?

I'm so far ahead by denying every warranty sales push in the past 15 years.

I don't usually buy one. If your new car has a lot of fancy electronics like HUD, DVD, climate control, sunroof etc. you might consider purchasing it. Only purchase the GM extended policy, several of the aftermarket companies have gone out of business. Most of the policies have a partial refund if you sell the car before they expire.

I'm pretty sure if you read the fine print most of this is not covered under the extended warranty. At least that has been my experience.

I have been purchasing new automobiles for the past 21 years - never bought an extended warranty and have never had a situation to make me change my mind.

Once I get to 2 years ~20k miles I will decide if I will keep the car long term. If I do I will most definitely get an extended warranty. My mom's 99 tahoe broke down for the first time one day after the warranty. Too bad so sad. It was one expense after another that happened in its lifetime. My 2004 Mercury Mountaneer had an excellent extended warranty from Budco that more than paid for itself.

If you want to go without an extended warranty, all the power to you.
