Just bought the parts including matte high temp black paint. I believe 3.25" of pipe goes between each elbow and the ends. Everything is 3" wide. They sell 2 types of elbows for 2 of the elbows. Street or something...I dont know the difference but other videos mentioned the street version, possibly for looks?

You will also need a breather filter for the pvc so you dont have to drill a hole to connect a tube.

Some people also buy the cheap EBay CAI’s, throw away the cone filter and just use the tube itself with a silicone coupler to attach to the stock air box.

I wanted to get a cheap intake from the 99-06 tahoe but couldnt find anything stating those would work with our generation. The ebay intakes for our gen go for 70+. Ended up going the pvc route and can hear the growl. After the breather filter and paint, I pretty much spent about $50. I guess this would be the cheapest route and I'm not mad about that knowing how little gains this does.

Regarding breather filter, the pvc is in such a tight spot its hard to get the breather connected. I fortunately some pvc hose that broke from my Camry which I was able to cut down to size and use as an extension to the breather filter.

My only concern would be that the engine movement would dislodge the tube on either the air box side or TB side.
The stock intake tube system has the stupid looking accordion looking thing but at least it works.

Some people glue the pvc together but I did not and the setup is so tight with the inserts, I doubt it will seperate, as long as you make the inserts long enough to get bite from both sides. The suggestion was 3.25" I believe. I bought 2 3" couplers but have to custom size one on MAF end for better fitment.

If money is tight, don't waste it. An intake will basically do next to nothing on a stock truck.

Neither will a muffler but the sound is the driving force behind the purchase. Fortunately, the intake side is cheaper and easier. This isnt a car show truck so dont mind the look.
