Do your electric fan upgrade and you'll use those holes as well as cover the others up!

Def gonna do that. Still have to buy the harness. Going with LS1fans. But.... My tuner said he'd tune the pcm to turn it on for free, but if I do the install and he can't do it for me right away, or even if he could, he's almost an hr away, I'd be scared I'd overheat it. Would it be better to pay him for the install so he could tune it right then and there?

Have him turn the pin on first, just in case. The clutch fan will still work until you install the electric one. My pin was turned on for a month before I installed the electric fan.

I asked him a few times and he refused to do it. Said the fan had to be in first, then he'd do it.

What an ass. How does he expect you to drive an hour without a fan? You'll probably be fine, the fans on mine only turn on in the summer. At the worst, you'd have to pull over to let it cool down. But unless it's hot out, you should be fine. That dude is an idiot though.

Yeah, I wasn't too happy with him. I think I'd rather pay someone to activate the fans for me. I hate people doing a favor for me. Never gets done, or never gets done right.

I had Blackbear Performance tune my Suburban and he said that they always turn the pins on for Efans, even if the customer doesn't request it. Because more than half the time, people end up converting to electric fans. I had no hardcore plans to ever upgrade to Efans until I came across a set in the junkyard for dirt cheap, I couldn't pass it up. Plus the pins were already turned on, so it was a VERY easy upgrade. I did however have to get it retuned and have the turn on temp adjusted down about 2 or 3 degrees because my truck was idling around 212ish. Now it seems to NEVER get over 210.
Oh, and by the way @Tonyrodz I have a factory 06 efan harness for sale if you are interested. Asking $100 shipped.

The most time consuming part is connecting and routing the wiring. The second most time consuming part is removing the clutch fan. Well, breaking it loose off the water pump really. If you can at least get the harness wired up and routed and secured, and break the fan clutch loose (and just barely snug it back in place to drive the truck). If you get that part out of the way, you should be able to remove the fan shroud and clutch fan and replace it with electric fans in a matter of minutes. Probably faster than it will take him to tune it.
