Why do you recommend the TR55s over others...they're on the expensive side and I'm just wondering what the benefit is; not trying to be difficult :)

Is there any benefit to getting expensive wires like MSD or just stick with ACDelco?

benefit to msd's is you can bend the boot (headers) otherwise stock is probably just fine and cheaper

I havent splurged yet but get wires from these guys
http://www.firecore50.com/ I think they run $105/set for the ls engines

all I've heard is raves over these on the smoother idle and just smooth rpm's throughout the power band. From mild street cars to 1000hp race motors guys are bragging about them.
here's a thread on them

as for plugs, I'm like NGK's or a factory ac delco replacement

I had some Taylor 10.4mm wires on my 08 Sierra's 5.3L. Looks bad ass cause you could almost jump start a car with em! haha

Stock. No need for upgrading unless you go boost or nitrous, or a head/cam package good for 7,000rpm.

Having accumulated millions of miles on my fleet trucks, my experience is that for longevity the stock plugs and wires are best. I've tried them all and there is no difference in performance on a mildly modded engine and, FWIW, the stock plugs looked much better with high mileage (electrode and all didn't have as much erosion) AND they were easier to break free when time to change. These are aluminum heads, having a plug seize and strip threads will really ruin your day.

Just my $.02.
