soft... it's LITERALLY an eraser. Just like on paper, you just don't push too hard or you'll damage the paper/clear coat

I'm sure if you took the eraser wheel and applied excessive pressure in one spot for too long it COULD cause damage but you'd have to be less than intelligent to have that happen to you
I've never used fishing line, eraser wheels, or heat guns to remove any emblems or moldings off any ride I've ever owned.
It's actually quite easy to remove the 3M tape.
You just drink a lot of ZYR and piss on the adhesive tape, and it comes off.
