I had this problem on my '04 Z06. When filling up with fuel, you can't fill at a fast rate or leave the auto-fill lever on the handle, the pump just kicks off. I've tried moving it around and changing positions. Anyone else have this issue? I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow. I find it hard to believe in 15k miles as a dealer loaner vehicle nobody working there ever noticed this. :hmmm2:

This is on a 2015 Tahoe LT 5.3.

I had the same problem on my 15 the first 2 fill ups... turned out I always (had) used the same pump to fill with. I started using a different pump and it has worked fine ever since.

Long shot but worth a shot.

i put a small piece of plastic in between the lip of the gas tank and the rubber boot on the hose when inserting the nozzle. that way the boot doesn't fully seat and lets the fumes vent so the back-pressure doesn't kick the pump off, haven't had it happen while doing this yet.

I noticed it started on mine with the pumps that had that thing on it for vapors or whatever the hell they were for. Then they came out and said those things didn't do anything so all the stations took them off and I haven't had an issue since

your vapor return system is malfunctioning, this is a common GM problem.
Pressure builds up to high in the tank when the pump handle is sealed (the way its designed to be), your vapor system is supposed to deal with this. Its failed thus causing the pumps emergency pressure cutoff to activate.

Gas fumes into atmosphere is bad for the smurfs and humming bird who breath faster and get high quicker then humans from gas fumes. thus the seal and vapor system.

Must protect the smurfs and hummingbirds!

lol... exact same result for me. Mine for some reason didn't like that one particular pump I was using.

I haven't had a problem in probably 20+ fillups since those first 2 at the "trouble" pump.
